I like to call this recipe my Everything Banana Bread, because not only does it include Lindt chocolate chunks but it also has creamy peanut butter mixed in. 2020 was the year of the banana bread revival and since 2021 is a little extra in every way, I thought that this classic needed a little bit of more, too. And that’s why this is the best banana bread recipe in the world! Because it satisfies every craving.

Moist Banana Bread Recipe
When it comes to judging banana bread recipes, the first consideration is… how moist is the banana bread. This comes down to the ratio of flour to your wet ingredients, mainly bananas. You really want to be using a recipe that calls for a substantial amount of bananas, as this not only contributes to the great flavour of the bake but also ensures moist banana bread.
Also, when considering the moistness of your banana bread remember there is a difference between a moist loaf and an undercooked loaf! You cannot make a loaf of moist banana bread with a recipe where the ratios are out.
How to Make Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread?
Making this peanut butter and chocolate chip banana bread recipe couldn’t be easier. Since this simple recipe uses oil instead of butter you can easily make this banana bread without an electric mixer. Just a whisk and a little arm action will get you through making this banana bread.
Make sure you line your loaf tin properly before adding your batter into the tin. The last thing you want is to be struggling to get your beautiful loaf out of the tin once baked. I brush my loaf tin with a little oil on a pastry brush and then line the sides and the bottom of the tin with baking paper. This ensures that the loaf comes out perfectly every time.
What Bananas to use for Making Banana Bread
Don’t be scared of spotty bananas when making banana bread. You do not want to be using green bananas for baking banana bread. This will affect the flavour of the bake but also the moistness of the loaf as well.
This is why it is better to wait until the bananas are ready, when they have black spots and are slightly soft, making them easy to mash.
What Ingredients do you Need to Make a Banana Bread?
Since this is an everything banana bread recipe made with chocolate chips and peanut butter the ingredients list is a little longer! But all of the ingredients are pretty easy to come by and nothing out of the ordinary! For the chocolate, I used Lindt milk chocolate but you could use dark chocolate if you’d like. Just make sure it is good quality chocolate as this could really affect the taste of the banana bread.
The ingredients you will need are

- Brown sugar
- Sunflower oil
- Eggs
- Baking powder

Tips for Baking the Perfect Banana Bread
